The interior of the nave, the chapels and the crypt of St Paul’s are lined with memorials, rolls of honour, and flags and colours of regiments. The fabrics of some of the flags were so worn that you could almost see through it. Others were strips of cloth hanging from a pole. There was a [...]

Auditing the Cathedral
This is a high profile audit… that’s what they said, ‘Gotta practice what we preach.’ So what better than to start with the Bishop of London’s HQ and do an environmental audit of St Paul’s? And then, hopefully, the policies we recommend will filter down to all the other churches in the Church of England.
So [...]
Missing time
Whoop-de-doo… this week we had Zen and corporate/environmental law. There’s something about a good lawyer that makes you want to cling on to his every word.
It leaves me uneasy, that there’s suddenly a free weekend. Did a task escape my memory? Is there something I am supposed to do? Can this be right?
Thus I allowed [...]
The year's first (and hopefully not last) snow
Whenever I feel a damp coldness outside (you can sense these things), I pull back the curtains to have a look at the situation on the streets. A puddly or drizzly morning would almost certainly warrant The North Face and Aigle/Kathmandu boots, whereas dry or reasonably wet-but-drying-up sidewalks would mean a less outdoorsy look.

Western Switzerland
Geneva – the city itself – isn’t really that exciting. It’s rather lifeless, actually. Even the hotel concierge, when asked about that there was to do in Geneva on a Sunday morning, admitted apologetically “Geneva is quite dead on Sundays…” and my dad told of the answer he received from another hotel staff (when asked [...]
MP0804H is down
It seems that the first of my external HDDs has suffered some physical damage. Possibly overheated from last night as I was burning a DVD of Japan trip pictures for my dad. There are so many urban myths in harddrive resurrection out there – which, if any of the techniques, should I trust? Or perhaps [...]
Geneva
Free day tomorrow. Flying off for the weekend to meet up with my dad.

Catching up with the digital revolution
I’m a sucker for technology. Not quite as bad to be considered a genuine tech junkie, but close. Considering I’m a girl afterall (as I keep having to remind myself). When something techy pops up, I’d admire it and explore to great detail its specs (like the new iPhone), although that doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll [...]
B+E week one
We met with our clients last Thursday, and the petroleum company representative working with our team flew in from Aberdeen that morning for that purpose. It was a working lunch, and reporting back to the main group that afternoon with our findings from the morning scoping session and our project briefs.
Friday was a decision-making and [...]
